Custom JavaScript/Canvas image editing web app - Upwork

Hi

We're looking to work with a JavaScript enthusiast to rebuild an online, image editing app, where the final output, created by end-users will be printed digitally onto natural fibres, such as silk, wool, linen and cotton.

Our client has an existing web app built using Ruby, while the CMS was built using Active Admin.

With the new web app, we're keen to move away from Ruby and over to JavaScript (unless you feel there is better suited tech).

The app has to work within an existing WordPress site, while payment for the print will be completed using WooCommerce/PayPal.

The existing app allows user to:

* Offset where the image is placed on the fabric
* Change the width and height of the uploaded main image
* View the image PPI (Pixel Per Inch)
* Repeat the uploaded image to a specific size
* Select different repeating pattern styles
* Add space between the repeated image
* Rotate and flip the image

For the first stage, the client would like to keep all the existing functionality but make the new web app more accessible in regards to its look and feel. The current app is not responsive, but it would be good to get your thoughts on whether it can be made mobile friendly.

Further stages might include features such as; adding/editing SVG graphics, image/colour manipulation and filters etc.

Ideally, the uploaded image and anything created by the user/system would work with WooCommerce and be sent directly to the client's Dropbox account for storage (rather than the server). While further thought would need to be given for how the servers resources will be used to manage print-ready images, specifically around the image upload, image editing and final image creation.

The client has a second site which sells pre-printed fabrics, and we're about to launch a new WordPress site for that business. To save costs, the client is keen to re-use/replicate the same custom WordPress theme but change branding, colours, fonts etc for the web app site. We have the capacity to complete this aspect of the project if the work is not of interest.

Please let me know if you have any questions or need more info.

Thanks
Jonathan
